Erocast has is not and never will be a for Profit project. Every $ donated will be used to fund the server and development costs.
Erocast was designed and built as a Free resource to the Erotic audio community including Gone Wild Audio and related subreddits, as well as other Voice Artists who produce erotic content that cannot be hosted on traditional places.
It was designed to have additional features such as art work, searchable tags, artists profile links and to be a secure audio stream to prevent content theft. The software is still under active development and will continue with feedback from users.
It was launched in March of 2021 and has been running with zero down time ever since. Erocast has grown in users and traffic since that time serving more audio each month and has become a backup service to many VA's on GWA.
August 20th of 2022, the Traffic to Erocast jumped by 500% due to problem with the main Audio host. The website overloaded as many new artists attempted to sign up and upload new audios. This trend has continued and has overloaded the existing server thus requiring a new high end Server and CDN in order to remain viable under these load conditions.
What is a CDN, Content Distribution Network, Explanation
Erocast has used a CDN and a VPS server to keep costs down, however with an increase in total traffic demand a higher grade Dedicated server and better CDN is now needed, both of those items significantly increase the cost.
Based on consultation with IT professionals and the Development team the current development plan is as follows:
- Purchase a Dedicated High end server with large memory bandwidth for main audio server
- Retain the VPS server and offload Audio conversion and Cloud upload
- Purchase higher end CDN for Global Caching of Audio files
- Contract with additional professional Software Developers for faster improvement of app
- Obtain feedback from Erocast Users about direction of development
- Improve User Support via Subreddit or Discord
