Episode No. 02 “Transit”

Field Notes from the Edge of Intimacy is a serialized audio journal by Dr. Cassia Nkosi, a xenobiologist reassigned against her will to document extraterrestrial mating behaviors across the galaxy. What begins as a punitive exile, framed as scientific observation, quickly becomes something far more complicated. Each log blends clinical detachment with reluctant introspection as Dr. Nkosi records her encounters with alien species whose rituals challenge her assumptions about biology, connection, and the ethics of watching. Recorded in transit, in remote outposts, and at the edge of alien worlds, these entries are equal parts field report, personal reckoning, and quiet rebellion.

En route to her first destination, Proxia V, Dr. Nkosi reviews the dossier on her initial subjects: the Silicates, a crystalline species said to “resonate” during planetary equinox. As she reads, she grows uneasy. Their ritual isn’t exotic, it echoes patterns of human longing, delay, and response. The clinical language of the report feels like a violation. For the first time, she questions not just her role, but the premise of the entire project.
