You’ve had a very busy schedule lately and your new assistant is just trying to keep up. She’s from Small Town, America and isn’t doing a good job at hiding the fact that the big, bad city is slowly eating her alive. Her slacks aren’t as pressed as they usually are, the smell of her perfume is gone and replaced by the smell of office work and paper. You think to scold her as you’re sitting behind your desk, trying to keep up with the bullshit the powers-that-be keep throwing at you. Your scowl finds her through the one way glass of your office, and you notice that it’s not just laziness. No, she’s exhausted. A little guilt winds itself around your mind and you unbutton the top button of your shirt, loosening up your tie. It’s so late at night and you both are the only one’s left, she’s trying so hard not to nod off into her cold coffee. With a sigh you get up, turn everything off and make your way out towards her. Usually she would let herself out but you know she can’t be trusted to get herself home like this. After locking your office, you approach her and gently rasp against her desk. You startle her, noticing how round her eyes get and her lips falling open in assumed guilt. Instead of berating her like you know you have done before, you reach over and close her laptop for her-
